Recital spotlights music of black composers

The orchestra program is performing a black composer recital in honor of Black History Month at 5 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 23, in Reinhart Auditorium, located at Merrillville High School, 276 E. 68th Pl. The public should enter door M at the back of the school.

9th annual film festival to be held at Glen Theatre

During Black History Month, the Glen Theatre will present a series of independent films during the 9th Annual Film Festival hosted by Gary native and Hollywood actor William L. Johnson. The 2-day cultural event will screen a new feature film and a series of shorter pieces.

Music Heritage Series Concert
