Each week we will be bringing you 10 fun things to do in Northwest Indiana over the weekend, so you are never without something to do! This weekend a 5K race and tailgate, a festival celebrating world cultures, a party with Harley-Davidson, a one night concert series, Kiwanis Peanut Days, a beer tasting, pet adoption event, kids funfest, paintball excursion, and a 5K run/walk for a cause are all on tap for a fun weekend in Northwest Indiana!

This 5K starts and ends at Northwest Athletic Club in Michigan City. Race proceeds benefit the American Red Cross of La Porte County. After the run come into NAC for awards, drinks, food, football, raffles, door prizes and fun!
4th Annual World Cultural Festival
Join the Valparaiso International Center for a family-friendly day filled with food, fun, games, and entertainment that celebrates the cultural diversity of Northwest Indiana. Enjoy foods on the world, handmade arts and crafts, children's games and activities, and a great evening with neighbors and friends in Valparaiso's Central Park Plaza!
Party with the Harley-Davidson of Michigan City
The Harley-Davidson of Michigan City store is celebrating our 13th anniversary on September 22 from 9am until 5pm at our store in Michigan City! We’ll have a Honda of Michigan City open house and ATV Demo Day, along with a grand opening celebration of our Triumph of Michigan City store! There will be food and beer by Leroy’s Hot Stuff, live music by Dangerous Jim Post from noon until 4pm.
CST Opens Concert Season with Cathy Richardson
Chicago native and Grammy winner Cathy Richardson will appear at Chicago Street Theatre at 8 p.m.on Friday, September 21st, performing an acoustic concert with guitarist Jude Gold as part of the theatre's One Night Jam series. This will be Richardson's second appearance at Chicago Street Theatre. She will perform songs from her deep original catalog, along with Jefferson Starship classics and a Joplin song or two.
Kiwanis Peanut Days
The Kiwanis Club of La Porte will be hosting their annual Peanut Days on Friday, September 21st and 28th in front of the La Porte Post Office and Kroger from 7:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. Stop by and meet local community members who are committed to supporting children in the La Porte area. Donate what you can, and to say thank you a Kiwanian will give you a bag of peanuts. The proceeds from this collection go to support local programs and events.
Wise Guys University "Learn the Craft"
Sample and learn from local labels and brewmasters including: A selection of beers from Figure 8 Brewery, Finch's Beer Company, who will be speaking about Golden Wing Blonde Ale, Cut Throat Pale Ale, Threadless IPA AND Crown Brewing bringing Brown Ale, Pumpkin Ale and IPA. Kids Power Porter County and the Porter County Animal Shelter has announced the first Kids Power Funfest to benefit the Porter County Animal Shelter on Sunday, September 23. The event will include kiddy carnival games with prizes, pony rides, a bounce house, free craft making, souvenir photos, face painting, exotic animals, raffles, contests and much, much more!
Valpo Americans Day of Paintball
Valparaiso Americans baseball will be holding a fun-filled Day of Paintball on Sunday, September 23rd. Cost is $40 for 3 hours of play and includes equipment rental. A portion of the proceeds will benefit Valpo Americans Little League. This event is open to the public.

Please join us at Sunset Hill Park on September 22, 2012 for a fun Family 5K Run/Walk and dog jog to help raise funds for NeighborLink Porter County. The 5K registration will begin at 7:30 a.m. with the runners stepping off at 8:30 a.m. and the walk and dog jog beginning at 9:00 a.m.
