Second Annual Blue Chip Brewfest Highlights Top Microbreweries
The Stardust Event Center at Blue Chip Casino plays host to the second annual Blue Chip Brewfest on April 14. Top microbreweries from around the nation will gather to showcase the unique flavors of their different brews. You’ll get a chance to sample from the breweries of Boston Beer Company, Bells, New Belgium, Greenbush, New Holland, Upland and many, many more.

Porter-Starke and Memorial Opera House Team up for Night of Musical Comedy
Valparaiso’s Memorial Opera House will present the musical “I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change” for a one evening benefit for Porter-Starke Services Foundation on April 12. Proceeds from the event will go toward the $50,0000 goal of the 2012 Changing Minds Campaign. The regular run for the musical will be from April 13 through April 22 with performances on Friday and Saturday evenings at 8 p.m. and Sunday afternoons at 2 p.m.

Chicago Street Brings Chekhov’s Last Play to the Stage
Comedy or tragedy? It’s an age-old question associated with Anton Chekhov’s classic, “The Cherry Orchard,” opening April 13. The story tells of Madame Ranevsky’s return to her Russian estate and cherry orchard after a five-year absence. Once an affluent and privileged member of society, Ranevsky now faces poverty and the likelihood that her beloved cherry orchard will slip from her grasp.

Live Entertainment Association Brings Metales to Portage
The Portage Township Live Entertainment welcomes Metales, Mexico's leading brass quintet, to the Portage High School West Auditorium on Friday, April 13. The quintet's unique style, which combines fine chamber music with popular entertainment, makes Metales break the barriers of incomparable musical genres as they take the Blues to the Opera and Bach to the roads of Michoacan.

Disposable Theatre Improv Comedy will return to our home stage at Fourth Street Theater in Chesterton on April 13 and 14, 2012, for two great shows! Walk to Prevent Suicide
The Purdue North Central Out of the Darkness Campus Walk is a fundraising walk supporting the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. There are more than 30 Out of the Darkness Campus Walks taking place throughout the U.S. this spring. Funds will support vital research, education, advocacy, suicide prevention initiatives and programs to support those impacted by suicide.

VHS Art Students to Host Annual Show
The VHS AP and IB art classes will host their annual Honors Art Show on Thursday, April 12, 2012 and Friday, April 13, from 6 pm to 8 pm. This show will be held in the upper gymnasium at the high school. The community is invited to celebrate the accomplishments of the students, as they showcase their best work!

Ambulance Chase 5K Run/Walk for Charity
The Valparaiso University School of Law Running and Fitness Club is hosting a 5K Run/Walk on Saturday, April 14, 2012 at 9:30 am. The run and walk will begin in front of the Valparaiso University Fitness Center. All proceeds benefit the Make A Wish Foundation.

Test Your Knowledge to Save An Animal
I Wanna Go Home Rescue is hosting a trivia night April 14th, 2012 to raise funds for their organization. Doors will open at 6 p.m. and trivia will begin at 6:30 p.m. There will be prizes awarded to the winning teams. I Wanna Go Home Rescue is a non-profit organization dedicated to saving animals and educating the public on animal care.
