Trombone and FriendsRosario-Guest-Artist
An evening of great trombone performance. This concert marks the debut of The Valparaiso Sinfonietta, Miguel E. Rosario-Vega, conductor, and a special performance by the VHS Trombone Choir. Presented in collaboration with the VHS Band Department it promises to be an evening of great music making.

Kid’s Holiday Party
The mischievous elves of Pikk’s Tavern are at again! Set for Sunday December 12th, Pikk’s, along with rTrail Collective Edge and Martin Binder Jeweler, will be hosting the first annual Kid’s Holiday Party! A myriad of activities are planned for both kids and parents alike.

2010 Christmas Parade and Tree Lighting Ceremony
The City of Portage invites you to the 2010 Christmas Parade and Tree Lighting Ceremony this Saturday, December 11, 2010. The parade will begin at 5:00 pm and will follow a route from Hamstrom to Central Avenue.

Come on in to Taltree’s Railway Garden Depot for a preview of our newest garden! Santa asks that you come for a sneak peek at the trains that run through a spectacular garden planted along a miniaturized landscape of mountains and valleys, tunnels and rivers. Have your children's photos taken with Santa for just $10.

Both the boys and girls teams face off against Portage tonight!

Breakfast With Santa
All are welcome to join us for a hot breakfast, Christmas activities, story time and a sing along with Mrs. Claus, along with a personal meeting with Santa!

All events feature various speakers with an involvement within the Deaf community and Deaf culture.

Holiday Benefit Concert for the Food Bank of Northwest Indiana
"Flying Around The Sun" and Where Were You Last Night? Productions present A Holiday Benefit Concert for The Food Bank of Northwest Indiana Featuring Groovatron, Nomad Planets and Joshua McCormack, Friday, December 10 at the Art Theatre, 230 Main Street, Hobart. Admission is $5 plus at least one non-perishable food item donation per person.

Christmas on the Farm
Bring the kids or grandkids to see St. Nicholas and Mrs. St. Nicholas. Cookies and punch, kids activities led by Lexy Ripley. Take pictures of the kids with St. Nicholas.

Blood Drive
This weekend, blood drives will be held at Northview Elementary School in Valpo, Union Fire & Rescue, and St. Patrick Catholic Church.
