American English are Coming to the Star Plaza Valentine's Day Weekend 
Join Lakeshore Public Media and celebrate over 50 years of The Beatles as American English performs a special concert on Friday, Feb. 13, 2015 at the Star Plaza Theatre. Tickets begin at $25 with all proceeds benefiting 89.1 FM The Lakeshore, your source for NPR and local radio programming.

Express Your Talent Open Mic Talent Show
Please join Top Shelf Poetry on February 13th, as they celebrate Black History Month with the Express Your Talent Open Mic event. The talent show committee has held auditions and have locked in several great acts for the evening. This is a family friendly event and welcome everyone to come enjoy the talent, There will be cash prices available for first, second and third place.

IU Northwest Festival of Dance Set for February 13-15, 2015 
The Indiana University Northwest Dance Company invites the community for its annual Festival of Dance, set for 7:30 p.m., Feb. 13 and 14 and 2:30 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 15 at Theatre Northwest on Grant, 3660 Grant St., located one mile west of the main campus at 37th Avenue and Grant Street. The six dances that will be performed represent a diverse range of dance styles, from Afro-modern to musical theatre jazz, and contemporary pointe.

Support a Great Cause at Culver's! Valpo  | Schererville 
Valpo: During the month of February, Culver's of Valparaiso is helping to support the new nonprofit by accepting donations for Emma's Footprints through the Legacy Foundation as well as for Riley Children's Hospital. Guests can come in anytime throughout the month and enjoy the great food at Culver's and support a great cause at the same time.
Schererville: Culver’s of Schererville is also conducting several other fundraisers in the month of February on behalf of the Nathan C. Splant Foundation. First, they will be selling signature cards for $1. Customers are encouraged to sign their name on the card that says they support preemie awareness. Those cards will then be displayed throughout the restaurant. Culver’s will also be selling pink and blue wrist bands for $1 that let people know they are among the “Helping Hands for Preemies”. Both of these promotions will continue throughout the entire month of February.

It's Valentine's Day weekend and it's the perfect time to take in a movie at the Portage 16 IMAX! Movies like Kingsman: The Secret Service, Fifty Shades of Grey, Jupiter Ascending, SpongeBob Squarepants: Sponge Out of Water and more!

Valentine's Day 2015 at the La Porte County Historical Society Museum 
On Valentines Day, Saturday, February 14th at 1 P.M. in the meeting room at the museum, a Valentines’ day Tea will be held. On the schedule will be refreshments, music by “Sentimental Journey”, the reading of “The Great Loves of La Porte County” and more! Come and enjoy the afternoon at the museum. It’s that time of year again when the La Porte County Historical Society displays its vast collection of vintage Valentines. The Valentines are on display in the period rooms at the museum. Paper lace cutouts with romantic sayings, 3-dimensional stand-up cards, and many colorful, nostalgic images grace these long-ago works of art. The antique Valentines will be on display at the museum till the end of February 2015.

Portage Firefighters to Host "Fire and Ice Ball" on Saturday 
Looking for something to do this Valentine’s Day? Consider attending the Portage Firefighters L3151 Fire and Ice Ball for a night of food, dancing and fun. Doors open at 6pm with dinner starting at 7 pm. Spend the night dancing to music presented by DJ Steve, with catered food courtesy of Pestos Restaurant and photo booth fun by Funi Foto.

Don't Miss the 2015 Day of Dance 
Coming up on Sunday February 15, 2015 is the Franciscan Alliance Spirit of Women Day of Dance! This annual event is a celebration of health and wellness, and encourages everyone to get moving! Day of Dance takes place at the Radisson Hotel at Star Plaza 800 East 81st Avenue in Merrillville, Indiana and runs from 1pm to 5pm. Registration is required and there is no cost to attend. One Night Jam with Dan Navarro at Chicago Street Theatre 
The original One Night Jam artist returns! Long a CST favorite, Dan Navarro's music is folkish with a rock tinge. Lowen & Navarro achieved national fame when Pat Benatar recorded and had a hit with their song, "We Belong." Also a successful voiceover actor/musician, Dan's voice has appeared in such films as Happy Feet, The Lorax, Rio, and Envy. He's also appeared on such TV shows as "American Dad," "Family Guy," and "Melrose Place" and countless commercials over the years. Most recently he was featured as "El Chakal" in the hit movie, The Book of Life.
