Chicago Street Theatre Shakespeare in the Park 
Chicago Street Theatre is bringing the magic of Shakespeare to the region with The Tempest for the 5th Annual Shakespeare in the Park production. The event will present the playwright's late masterpiece of forgiveness, generosity and enlightenment with two free public performances at Central Park Plaza's Porter Health Amphitheater and an Artisans Fair held at the new William H. Urschel Pavilion located in the heart of downtown Valparaiso. This citywide celebration of art and theatre will begin at 6PM with a Food and Beer Garden, local artists, live performers and activities for the whole family.

La Porte High School Presents “Schoolhouse Rock Live” 
The Emmy Award-winning 1970's Saturday morning cartoon series that taught history, grammar, math, and more thorough clever, tuneful songs come to life and lights up the LaPorte Little Theatre stage! SCHOOLHOUSE ROCK LIVE! follows Tom, a new school teacher who is nervous about his first day of teaching. He tries to relax by watching TV when various characters from his favorite cartoons emerge from the set and show him how to win his students over with imagination and music, through such songs as "Just A Bill," "Interplanet Janet," and "Conjunction Junction." It will make you want to grab a bowl of your favorite breakfast cereal and sing along!

47th Annual Greek Fest 
SS Constantine & Helen Greek Church presents its 47th annual Greek Festival from July 8 to 10 from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. Attendees have been enjoying Greek favorites like the Gyros, roasted lamb and their award-winning “Greek Potatoes” for decades.Festivities include carnival games for kids, vendors and generous portions of traditional Greek food. An outdoor beer garden will also be available. Entertainment includes The Rave featuring Nick Kazonis on Friday at 7:00 p.m.; the Ormi band on Saturday and Sunday at 5:00 p.m. and Hellenic Dancers Friday through Sunday from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Portage Summer Music Series Presents “Winds of Summer” Concert 
Here's a noteworthy way to recognize and support talented Northwest Indiana middle and high school concert band students, free of cost--just by your attendance! Part of the Portage Summer Music Series of FREE entertainment, the whole family is invited to attend the Winds of Summer 2016 Finale Concert, on Friday, July 8th, from 6:00-7:30pm at Portage High School East Auditorium. Winds of Summer is a summer band experience in Portage, for 6 through 12th grade Northwest Indiana band students wishing to keep playing during their time off from the school year.

Bring It! Live 
Miss D and her Dancing Dolls, the stars of Lifetime’s hit series “Bring It!,” will perform live at the Star Plaza Theatre on Saturday, July 8th at 8P as part of the “Bring It! Live” tour. Ticket prices start at $29.75 (plus applicable service charges) and are subject to change. “Bring It! Live” will give fans the chance to become part of the action as they see Miss D and her Dancing Dolls perform their never-before-seen routines live onstage. Audience members will take part in live voting, engage in Q+A with the cast, and get the exclusive "behind the scenes" lowdown on the hit Lifetime series.

Gary Air Show 2016 
This time of the year, everyone is ready for summer events and beach days. Gary residents and visitors to the South Shore will be able to combine both of these favored summer pastimes and enjoy the beloved Gary Air Show at Marquette Park beach. The United States Navy and the United States Army will be the featured acts for the 2016 Gary Air Show.

Lubeznik Center for the Arts' ArtBash 2016 Brings Second City to Michigan City
Lubeznik Center for the Arts will host ArtBash 2016, LCA's premier annual fundraising event, at Blue Chip Stardust Event Center. All proceeds will support LCA programs and outreach - enabling LCA to mount nine outstanding contemporary art exhibitions during the year, deliver art, music and dance for 800+ children and adults weekly, and provide leadership to local economic development initiatives. In 2016 ArtBash is a lively evening of political "spoofery" with headline entertainment by Chicago's very own Second City Works.

2016 Indiana North/South Baseball All Star Series 
The City of Whiting and the Indiana High School Baseball Coaches Association have announced that the 2016 Indiana North/South High School Baseball All-Star Series will be played at Oil City Stadium on July 9th and 10th in 2016. The games that will feature the top high school players in the state of Indiana, are scheduled to be played as part of the 3 game series. Game 1 of the series will take place on July 9th beginning at 4 p.m. with game 2 to follow. Sunday, July 10th will feature a single game with 1st pitch scheduled for noon.

6th Annual Livin’ It Up Music Festival 
Bring your lawn chairs and come on out to the 6th annual LIVIN' IT UP music festival to benefit Porter County Special Olympics. The British are coming to Zao Island as Beggar's Banquet (Rolling Stones Tribute), The Chris & Lou Band Beatle Experience (Beatles), and Ripley Street (mix of British Invasion tunes) will be bringing you a great afternoon of some of your favorite songs of all time.
