Flanagin's Bulk Mail team is having their annual yard sale at 802 Evans Ave in Valparaiso. The sale will be held Friday through Sunday, August 16,17,18 from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Last year, the team raised almost $1,000 for Team Kelli. Again this year, the proceeds will benefit the 2013 American Heart Association's Heart Walk "Team Kelli" in efforts to fight heart disease and stroke.
Team Kelli is raising money in memory of Kelli Longacre, who passed away in September 2009 at the young age of 33. She passed away from a rare condition known as SCAD. She was not diagnosed until after her death. The funds raised will support projects such as:
Putting up to the minute research into doctor's hands, so they can better prevent and treat heart disease among patients Groundbreaking pediatric heart and stroke research. About 36,000 babies are born with heart defects each year- research is the key to saving babies' lives Getting life-saving information to those who need it most- information that can save a life, like how to eat better, how to recognize the warning signs of a heart attack, and how to talk to a doctor about critical health choices
