Wine-Tasting Dinner Benefit at Don Quijote Restaurante to Support Kids Alive International
Mayor Jon Costas, Representative Ed Soliday and Dave Rodgers personally invite you to a special evening at Don Quijote Restaurante, Sunday, January 16, 2011 at 6:00 p.m. Join other community leaders and businessmen and women for a fun and enjoyable evening of great food, great wines and a one-of-a-kind auction to benefit Kids Alive International’s work in Haiti.

Empowerment Project at the Chesterton Art Center
On Saturday, January 15, Landry will lead an Empowerment Card Workshop from 10 am until 2 pm. All are welcome to drop in and create cards inspired by empowerment. The Opening Reception will also be held on Saturday, January 15 from 2 pm until 4 pm at the Chesterton Art Center, located at 115 S. 4th St. in Chesterton.

CJ-Fang-DrizzlingRtrail Collective Edge Showcases Famous, Foreign-Born Artist C.J. Fang, with "New Year. No Fear."
The works will be on display starting Tuesday, January 11 when the Gallery Opens at 10am. Personal appearances by CJ Fang at 6:30pm on Saturday, January 15 will allow the public to hear her story first hand and share the wisdom of change as we face the new year without a renewed confidence. Salsa and West Coast Swing Dance Workshop
Join us for a special two-day series of classes in two of the most popular social dances today: Salsa and West Coast Swing! VHS Weekend Basketball Action Broadcast Live on ValpoLife, Courtesy of Region Sports Network
We’ll be hosting the Region Sports Network radio feed for both Friday night’s boy’s varsity basketball game and Saturday morning’s girl’s basketball game! Both games feature the Vikings taking on the Michigan City Wolves at Valparaiso High School.

Children's Mixed Media Art Series
This youth series for ages 7-14 begins January 15, 2011.Classes are from 10 – 11 a.m. and will be held for five consecutive Saturdays in Taltree’s Railway Garden Depot. Participants will use a variety of materials and techniques, with instruction appropriate for all levels from beginners to advanced.

Portage Soccer Club Sign-ups Begin This Weekend
The Portage Soccer Club has scheduled sign-ups for the Spring 2011 Season for Jan-15/16, Jan 22/23 and Jan 29/30 from 2-4pm, at Portage High School Field House (Door D). Teams are available for boys and girls for U8, U10, U12 & U14 divisions.
