1st-Source-BGC-Check-Presentation 1On Wednesday afternoon, the Boys & Girls Club in Valparaiso got a special visit from 1st Source Bank.

Bob Ax, Regional President of the Valparaiso Region for 1st Source Bank, stopped by to give a generous donation on behalf of 1st Source to the Boys & Girls Club. The donated amount was $1,500.

"Over the past four years we have spent about $283,000 in the community to support activities here," Ax said. "We like to help and want to see our communities flourish."

"These are the types of phone calls that you love to receive," Ryan Smiley, President of the Boys & Girls Club of Porter County said with a laugh. "We're very appreciative of 1st Source's continued support of our organization and the impact that we have on the kids that we serve every day. We couldn't do it without their generosity and those like them that continue to support our cause."

The donation will go directly to the Boys & Girls Club of Porter County's "It Just Takes One Campaign". It's their annual fundraising campaign and this year's goal is to raise $200,000. The campaign puts an emphasis on how much impact and power one person can have.
