Many Mudathletes Run “A Muck” in 2011 Mudathlon

On Saturday, July 23, 2011, nearly 1,600 thrill-seeking Mudathlete participants made their way to the Chicagoland/ NW Indiana's 2nd annual Mudathlon at Graeber Family Farms in Valparaiso, Indiana to have "A Mucking Good Time!"

This particular Mudathlon is the second of four Mudathlon Series and had participants who came from 4 different countries and 22 different states.  All participants had to be 14 years of age or older.

The Mudathletes participant waves began at 8:00 a.m. and then every 15 minutes until 1:00 p.m. with each wave having approximately 80 people.  The Mudathlon was over a 3-4 mile stretch of off-road terrain with tons of mud, 40 plus challenging obstacles, 100 foot mud pit, and an amazing post race party with food and a live band.

The band was The Jester Kings from the Indianapolis area.  They kept the Mudathletes rocked out and pumped up throughout the entire day.  The Jester Kings were no strangers to this new kind of event that is taking the nation by storm.  They made their first Mudathlon appearance at last month's Mudathlon, which was held near Indianapolis in Anderson, Indiana.
