2013 Edition of Directory Lists Operating Grants for Nonprofit Organizations

schoolhouse-operatingOfficials who lead nonprofit programs in the sectors of arts and culture, children and youth, community and economic development, health care, and social services will find more than 1,800 funding sources for operating costs in a newly published directory.

Schoolhouse Partners LLC has published the eighth edition of Operating Grants for Nonprofit Organizations. It can be purchased directly from Schoolhouse Partners, Amazon, Baker & Taylor, EBSCO Information Services, Ingram Books or YBP Library Services. The information also is available on Grant Select, Schoolhouse Partners' subscription-based online database.

Louis S. Schafer, editorial director, said leaders of nonprofit organizations can meet a variety of needs through the funding opportunities listed in the directory.

"Funding in the area of operating support includes overhead, salaries, administration, utilities and other ongoing costs associated with an organization's day-to-day business," he said. "Because operating money does not tend to support a specific goal or objective, the struggle to locate and secure such funding can be problematic for small- to medium-sized nonprofits. This directory was designed to be an ideal tool to assist organizations with this task."

Each record is listed in three indices: by subject, program type and geographic focus. Each record includes the grant title; amount of funding; description; application requirements; application deadline; contact information, including Internet address, email, phone number, fax, sponsor name and physical address; and samples of awarded grants, when available.
