2014 Leon’s Triathlon Road Closures

leons-triThe City of Hammond will once host Leon’s Triathlon on Sunday, June 1, where more than 500 athletes will compete in the “world’s fastest” triathlon. The race begins and ends at Wolf Lake Memorial Park and will be televised nationwide during Fourth of July weekend on Comcast SportsNet.

Please read the following road closings to learn how this event may affect your Sunday morning commute.

The following sections of roads will be closed by 5:00 a.m.; the Riley Road ramp on Cline Avenue and the Cline Avenue exit from the toll road (Exit 3), please use alternative exits.

The following roads will be closed by 7:00 a.m.: Calumet Avenue from Indianapolis Boulevard to 141st Street and Sheffield Avenue from Calumet Avenue to Gostlin Street. Motorists are asked to take Chicago Street to Indianapolis Boulevard to travel north or south. All roads surrounding Pulaski Park (137th Street from Sheffield Avenue to Grover Avenue, Grover Avenue from 137th Street to 139th Street, 139th Street from Grover Avenue to Sheffield Avenue, and Hohman Avenue from 139th Street to Sheffield Avenue) will also be closed.
