The 2015 Junior Citizens Police Academy graduated on Wednesday, April 29th. The course is open to high school juniors and seniors. The program is designed to introduce high school students to the many duties and procedures of the Valparaiso Police Department. Many of the participants are interested in a law enforcement career. The class participated in mock traffic stops, learned defensive tactics, volunteered to be tased, learned of K9 procedures and were exposed to many laws. The program is a great hit with the high school kids and this year 17 high students graduated from the course. The coordinator of the course is Officer Chris Allison.
