The South Shore Convention and Visitors Authority’s 30 Stops in 30 Days campaign will conclude on Wednesday, July 31, with a stop at the grand opening of Big Daddy’s BBQ in Hammond. The 30 Stops in 30 Days campaign has taken the South Shore Tour Mobile throughout the South Shore, promoting attractions, festivals, restaurants, businesses and events during the South Shore CVA’s 30th anniversary celebration.

On Monday, July 29, the South Shore Tour Mobile will be at Fair Oaks Farms from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. While at Fair Oaks Farms, visitors can play on a massive jumping pillow, climb the 25-foot milk bottle-shaped climbing wall, visit the birthing barn for a chance to see a calf being born and try delicious, fresh cheeses, ice cream and Fair Oaks famous grilled cheese sandwiches.

Rube-CarThe South Shore Tour Mobile will be accepting final entries for the daily $25 Family Express gift card and the $2,000 Family Express gift card grand prize at the Indiana Welcome Center on Tuesday, July 30, from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Following the scheduled stop, the South Shore CVA’s Rube Goldberg Machine ™ will begin at noon to generate the name of the winner.

A Rube Goldberg Machine ™ is a deliberately over-engineered or overdone machine that performs a very simple task in a very complex fashion, usually including a chain reaction. Visitors who have been following the South Shore Tour Mobile as it made the 30 Stops in 30 Days have received an entry into a contest for the $2,000 Family Express gift card at each stop they’ve visited.

On Wednesday, July 31, the South Shore Tour Mobile will be at Big Daddy’s BBQ’s grand opening from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. The new restaurant is located at 6823 Grand Ave in Hammond.
