Real estate is a career that keeps people busy, but Janelle Kostidis, an independent agent in residential sales at Realty Executives Premier, thinks it’s perfect.
After taking time to be a stay-at-home mom for her son, Kostidis decided it was time to enter the workforce and thought providing a service to her community was a great way to do so. After some consideration, she decided real estate would be the perfect choice for her.
“What’s better than being able to be there for someone and help them with one of the biggest purchases of their life?” Kostidis said. “When people buy a home, it’s a place where they’re looking to grow and love and make memories. I want to be the type of agent that, when people look back at the experience, [I’ve made] an unforgettable impact.”
After school and receiving her license, Kostidis talked to a few brokerages in the area. She thought she had her mind made up until she met with Mike and Pam Tezak of Realty Executives. After a chat with them she knew she had found her place, and in August of 2017 she joined the team.
“It was an overwhelming vibe of comfort,” Kostidis remembered. “I felt welcome instantly. There’s always going to be something in me that respects a family-run business because my father is a business owner and the same goes for my in-laws.”
To Kostidis, the comfort was just the beginning. After talking with Tezak she found the company had everything she was looking for and more. She quickly found the team ready to welcome her and offer their support.
“I definitely feel like as a company, as a whole, that all of the agents there get along,” Kostidis said. “There’s this vibe of support and friendship. Everyone is there for eachother. In a sense, it feels more like a family than an office.”
Kostidis channels this support into her work and passes the feeling along to her clients. By listening, answering their questions quickly, and creating a comfortable environment for them, Kostidis provides a service that is both accommodating and simple.
“I’m a very detail-oriented person and I let people know there’s no such thing as a stupid question, especially when buying or selling a home,” Kostidis said. “I try to set that comfort level high so they can ask me anything. Buying or selling a house is a big decision, and for a lot of people, why they’re buying or selling may not be for the easiest or happiest reasons.”
The future looks bright for Kostidis as she continues her work with Realty Executives Premier. From the support in office to the work she is able to do with clients, she’s proud to be a part of their team.
“I just think I’m headed in a great direction for both personal growth and growth as an agent,” Kostidis said. “I know with their guidance and support I’m going to grow. They know your worth.”
