Since 1905, Albert’s Diamond Jewelers has been one of the Region’s top jewelry destination stores. Aside from offering exquisite timepieces and fine jewelry, Albert’s is leading the way with their bridal offerings. The jeweler leads as an authorized retailer for the best engagement ring brands such as Tacori, Christopher Designs, A. Jaffe, Gabriel Bridal, and Verragio.
“We have something for everybody at every price point,” said Josh Halpern, President of Albert’s Diamond Jewelers. “Whether it’s the highest quality of diamond in the world, or something more moderately priced than the average person can afford, we want to make sure we have an offering for everybody. What we don’t sacrifice on is the light return, brilliance, sparkle, and simulation because that’s the benefit you get every single day.”
Albert's strives to stay up-to-date with the most current trends. Recently, Halpern and his team have noticed a change in styles in engagement rings and a shift in the industry.
“[Rings] have changed over the last year and a half to a more simple look,” Halpern said. “We offer the hottest stylings with the most current trends. Young ladies seem to be going back to the very simple look today. Offerings of solitaires and thinner shanks focused more on the center diamond, whereas with previous styles, it was centered on the mounting with more diamonds around the diamond and bigger settings.”
When you shop at Albert’s, you are going to receive better, more knowledgeable service from their diamond experts, which is something mass merchant companies can’t match.
“We’re buying the best, highest quality diamonds that perform the best,” Halpern said. “Our diamonds have been mined from the best diamond mines in the world and have been cut by the most expert diamond technicians who can maximize light return, which is the reason you buy a diamond—you buy it because it sparkles.”
As a bridal trendsetter in Northwest Indiana, it is important to stay innovative with product offerings. Something new has hit Albert’s and it is taking over the world of diamonds by storm. Laboratory-grown diamonds have become more and more popular over the last few years.
“This is something very exciting, and this interview is the first we’ve talked about it,” Halpern revealed.
These manufactured diamonds are grown in laboratories using the latest technological process that duplicate the conditions which natural diamonds are developed. These diamonds consist of carbon atoms arranged in a characteristic diamond crystal structure and made of the same material as their predecessors. Lab-grown diamonds also exhibit the same optical and chemical properties as natural diamonds.
Lab-grown diamonds have been around since the 1960s. In the early days, it was very expensive, but through the years these diamonds have been used in technology. Medical industries, which use diamonds in laser technology for surgeries, have even made the technology more affordable. Manufactured diamonds have even been utilized by NASA. They used diamond covered windows because of the stone’s ability to withstand heat better than anything else.
“People are able to get a bigger, better diamond for their budgets with a lab-grown diamond,” Halpern said. “We always want to be on the cutting edge of our industry. To be leaders in our industry, we always have to have the newest, hottest technology, such as offering lab-grown diamonds.”
