Alzheimer’s Association Memory Walk Porter County Kickoff

The Alzheimer’s Association is inviting area residents to the Memory Walk Porter County Kickoff Party for the 2010 Memory Walk. The Kickoff will take place on August 10 at the Horizon Bank, 902 Lincolnway in Valparaiso, beginning at 5:30 p.m. The Porter County Kickoff is the third of a series of four Kickoff’s planned for Northwest Indiana. Kickoffs were held in Lake County, including Munster in June and Merrillville in July. The LaPorte County Kickoff is scheduled for August 17. AlzheimersAssociation

Please join us to socialize with others as well as get great information. Representatives will be on hand to explain Memory Walk and how you can get involved. Help will be available to register your team. Join us for a Fundraising Fair for fundraising tips and ideas. Plus, chat with successful team captains and learn tips on how to make your team successful.

The Team Kickoff is being cosponsored by Horizon Bank, Rittenhouse Senior Living, Unity Hospice and more. Reservations are requested as light refreshments will be served. Together we can bring help and hope to millions of Americans living with this disease – and millions more at risk. “There has never been a greater need for northwest Indiana citizens to join in the fight against Alzheimer’s disease by participating in Memory Walk,” said Louise Thompson, an Alzheimer’s Association spokesperson. “This kickoff is a fun way to get information and learn how fun and easy it is to raise funds to find a cure.”

The Alzheimer’s Association Memory Walk® is the nation’s largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer care, support and research programs. Held annually in hundreds of communities across the country, this inspiring event calls volunteers of all ages to become Champions in the fight against Alzheimer’s. In northwest Indiana, the Memory Walk will be held on Sunday, 9/19 at Hidden Lake Park, 6355 Broadway in Merrillville. Registration begins at 12:30 PM and the Memory Walk begins at 1:30 PM.
