An Interview with Indiana Chamber President Kevin Brinegar

Before the Lunch with Brinegar event held at Valparaiso University, Indiana Chamber of Commerce President Kevin Brinegar was kind enough to sit down with ValpoLife.com at Air One Photography Studios for an extensive interview.

In the interview, Brinegar touches on the wide range of services offered by the Chamber. The services in the interview are just a few offered by the Chamber to all Indiana businesses—large and small—and are all aimed at keeping Indiana businesses informed, engaged, and successful in the marketplace.

He notes that one of the largest services the Chamber provides its members is the advocacy they do on behalf of their members. Indiana Chamber of Commerce listens to the concerns of their members and works for them in getting the best possible result when it comes to advocating in front of State legislation, Congressional legislation, and regulatory committees.

In the interview, Brinegar explains that the advocacy side is just half of what the Indiana Chamber does for its members. The member services, largely catered to small and midsize businesses, are really what benefit its members, the majority of whom are businesses under 100 employees. The Chamber offers services like Human Relations, Tax Code, or Training Service hotlines designed to answer any questions regarding the business at no extra cost to members. He also talks about discounts on health insurance, advertising opportunities, and all of the various ways that members essentially pay for their Chamber membership through the discounts and value they receive.
