“April Fools” David Hugg – One Man Show at the Southern Shore Art Gallery

David-Hugg--April-Fools--PastelRun, don’t walk! David Hugg’s original art work has been selling out at local galleries in Chicago and NW Indiana and will be featured in Michigan City for the first time at the Southern Shore Art Gallery for the month of April.

Hugg’s main purpose through his whimsical and entertaining pastels is simply to make people happy. His vibrantly hued caricature portrayals are often of men and women with big wide eyes and bold red lips and grace the walls of many local restaurants such as Bistro 157 in Valapraiso and Lucrezia Café in Chesterton. He is proud to be self taught and has been featured in Shore Magazine and had numerous one man shows in Chicago and NW Indiana.

The Southern Shore Art Association will also feature the "People's Choice Award" winners Jeannene Anderson, Susan Henshaw and Ann Tompkins for the months of Jan, Feb and March 2011, where the general public voted on their favorite pieces.

As always, the show opens during the "First Friday" celebration in the Uptown Arts District in historic downtown Michigan City, IN. Over thirteen galleries, businesses and restaurants will be open on April 1st from 5-8PM or later. Walk from gallery to gallery and meet and mingle with the artists while enjoying refreshments and appetizers.
