Chicago Street Theatre Sets Audition Dates for Tragi-Comedy, ‘The Visit’

The-VisitFor Chicago Street Theatre's last show of the 56th season, Director David Pera is looking for 25+ cast members.

"The Visit", billed as a "tragi-comedy", features a millionairess with a past who returns to her hometown seeking revenge. Tragedy touches this comic story when the woman offers to share her wealth with the town on one extraordinary condition. The town passes judgment on one of its own, and the verdict is at once monstrously unjust and entirely democratic.

The play, by Friedrich Duerrenmatt and adapted by Maurice Valency, will be performed July 8-23.

There are roles for adults of all ages, but more men than women will be cast. Some doubling is possible.

Auditions will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 7, and at 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 10.
