Auxiliary Members Honored at Annual Luncheon for Numerous Contributions

Franciscan-39-Awards-Appreciation-1Franciscan St. Anthony Health-Crown Point Auxiliary members were honored for their services during a 39th Annual Awards and Appreciation Luncheon May 31, 2012, in the Marian Education Center. Dr. John King, vice president of medical affairs, who spoke on behalf of David Ruskowski, hospital president, told the group, “You do so many little things, which are so large in meaning to our patients and to all of us in the St. Anthony family.”

Besides assisting patients and myriad other duties, the volunteers have raised millions of dollars through programs such as the gift shop and regular sales and promotional efforts. Last year, the 262 members donated 52,094 service hours and $100,000 to the hospital.

Members were honored at the luncheon for hours served and for other accomplishments. Tribute also was paid to deceased auxilians.

Also among those honored was Connor Burge, a college student, who is shown receiving a 100-hour pin from Loretta Malloy-Gartner, Auxiliary second vice president.

Without all you selflessly do, our hospital would be hard-pressed to function as smoothly on a daily basis, or to as efficiently provide the numerous services upon which so many Northwest Indiana folks depend,” King said.
