Backyard Spontaneity

In case you missed it, Doing Business in the Backyard was a smashing success! There really is no better way to put it.

Think of it this way; in what other universe can a business meeting, with hundreds of influential people from the Portage and Valparaiso communities, can couple handshakes and business cards, with an inflatable bouncy boxing ring and an ATV filled with all of your favorite beverages?

In our universe, that is!

This is a wacky universe that we live in, here; a universe in which we pair professional people, with a DJ mixing fantastic music. This is a universe where we all snack on delicious foods donated from local businesses, just after giving the VU Crusader a hug.

I can’t deny that this is a universe where I feel right at home. The fact of the matter is that you should too.

One great thing about being a 100% positive news source is the fact that our perspective breeds a proactive mindset. I know that our event yesterday left many with a full belly, some excellent prize give-aways, and a smile on their face.

This is, more or less, a debut party for our organization. Yes, we have been around for a while, but this is really a new awakening to our perspective, and a new way to show our local communities about our positive universe that we’ve created.

Yes, what I’m admitting to is that I am from another universe. I guess that can be construed as a negative thing…

I am not literally a little green man, with huge black olive eyes. I am not an octopus man, with a series of muscular tentacles. I am not a wookie, a klingon, a native of Krypton, or any other supposedly fictional, otherworldly creature.

Likewise, I am not a ‘space cadet’ if you don’t mind me stealing an old cliché from the 1980s. Granted, there are times where I haven’t had my morning cup(s) of coffee and I sometimes catch myself staring. Like anybody, I sometimes forget the simplest of things… Ok, so maybe I am a little big of a ‘space cadet.’ I think that my lack of a jean jacket, and delicately feathered hair tips remove me from most 1980s era insults. I’ve digressed somewhere… OH!

I come from a universe where we can be the most fun loving professionals around. We are positive, we are passionate, and we are VERY good at what we do. Whether it is throwing a fun backyard barbeque, getting a fantastic and fun story out into the public, or marketing your business, we’re on it.

All of this ‘universe’ talk has got me thinking about two of the most famous astronauts out there.

I believe every human has a finite number of heartbeats. I don't intend to waste any of mine. -Neil Armstrong

Think about it, folks. We live to be successful. If it’s your business, my business, in every endeavor of life, live each day, each business day, in a professional, successful, but fun way. If you are working in a direction that is positive, strong, and even fun at times, you will be a success.

There is one quote from a different famous astronaut, which I believe really sums up our universe. This astro-guy is smart, strong, willing to get down to business and work hard to succeed. Most of all, this space traveler is one of the most fun guys imaginable. His quote is a bull’s eye of our mindset.

To infinity and beyond -Buzz Lightyear
