The Valparaiso High School baseball team played host to Duneland Athletic Conference rival Chesterton on Tuesday afternoon, shutting out the Trojans en route to a 3-0 victory.

The Vikings scored two early runs in the ball game to give Valpo a lead they wouldn’t lose as they were led on the mound by Devin Bafia, who struck out 13 batters, while only allowing one hit and two walks over seven innings.

Joe Gallinatti recorded two hits for the Vikings, while Bafia registered one to go along with a RBI. Renee Lozano also went 1-for-3 with an RBI.
