Barley Properties officially welcomes TLC Companies to Project Bluejay I Industrial Facility with ribbon cutting ceremony

Barley Properties held a ribbon cutting to celebrate the official opening of their new flex industrial facility, Bluejay I, at 2650 Barley Road, just off of IN-49. Located adjacent to Indiana Beverage, the 65,592 square foot building offers convenient opportunities to businesses looking to expand and/or relocate their existing facilities.

Among the first companies to occupy the building are TLC Companies, a professional employment company that primarily serves the transportation industry, and facilitates services such as human resources, payroll, and risk management. Though they are primarily based out of Brooklyn Center, Minnesota, TLC Companies also had a local office in Chesterton, prior to relocating to the Bluejay site.

“We had been located in Chesterton for the last 30 years or so, but we had the opportunity to seek out a new home here in Northwest Indiana, so we chose to move to Valparaiso,” said Stacey Gibson, Operations Manager for TLC Companies. “We have been in the new building since this past June and everything has worked out wonderfully for us.”

“Everything went great. The entire process of moving into our new home here progressed smoothly and we were able to relocate without an issue,” said Gibson.

The building has all utilities on site, and also offers fiber internet, phone and television, critical parts of any successful modern business. The utilities are supplied by local telecom provider NITCO. The building also features Valparaiso municipal water and sewer services. There are a total of 10 recessed docks, with six drive-in doors. Fire protection is handled by an ESFR sprinkler system, and the entire facility is lit by LED overhead lighting throughout.

The flex-space facilities offer a tremendous opportunity to attract potential businesses to the area as it can really cut down on the time from when a company decides to relocate to the area, until the time when they are ready to move in.

“We’re very excited about this project. This is a multi-tenant space. We can lease out various parts from 4,000 to nearly 58,000 square feet. Whatever any potential company might be looking for, they can come to us  and we can build out a space to fit their needs. It’s really a blank canvas,” said Jeff Leetz, President of Barley Properties.

“This is a great location, with proximity and easy access to local and interstate highways, as well as a short drive to Chicago. This is a great opportunity to attract new businesses here in Valparaiso.” Leetz continued.

“Valparaiso is a great city, and Indiana is such a great state to do business in,” added Jon Leetz, CEO of indiana Beverage. “We think it’s great when companies discover how easy it is to have a successful business here in Indiana. It’s a great place to call home for both families as well as businesses.
