Benjamin Franklin vs. Thomas Jefferson: “A” Teams Face Off

TJ vs BF football A rainy start to the game was in place this evening as Thomas Jefferson Middle School faced off against Benjamin Franklin. The rain lasted through much of the first quarter and partly into the second but thankfully moved out of the area shortly after. In the beginning of the first quarter BF scored a touchdown putting the score at 7-0.

Benjamin Franklin had quite a good run in the second quarter with two touchdowns, one with one minute and thirty-one seconds left on the board and later another with thirty seconds remaining, upping their lead to 21-0. In the third and fourth quarter TJ held very good defense against BF holding them in place and keeping the final score at 21-0.

2011-tj-vs-bf-footballAt the end of the game, Valparaiso varsity coach Mark Hoffman gave all of the boys on both teams an encouraging speech about life as well as goals in life. He encouraged the players to work hard, do their best, and respect and honor others and those who care for them. the night ended on a good note with one of the players leading everyone in a Vikings victory chant.
