Best Buy Foundation Grants Tech for Teens

BGC-Best-Buy-GrantThanks to a grant from the Best Buy Children’s Foundation, teen members of Boys & Girls Clubs of Porter County can explore their creative side in digital arts using new iMac computers. Reflecting Best Buy Children’s Foundation’s commitment to providing opportunities to teens through technology, $6,500 was awarded to Boys & Girls Clubs of Porter County to supply a new iMac computer in each Club’s Teen Center located in Valparaiso, South Haven, Portage and Duneland. Teens will have access to the latest technology in digital arts to design their own webpage, create and digitally edit music and movies, and design original graphic art. Having access to the latest digital arts technology will give the teens the opportunity to increase or explore their skill and knowledge in digital arts and open doors to possible career opportunities. Club members can also submit entries and compete in Boys & Girls Clubs of America Digital Arts Festivals.
