By: Benjamin Franklin Middle School Last Updated: January 20, 2010

The 7th grade “A” team improved their record to 13-6 last night with an impressive 50-40 victory over Portage Fegely.

The Viking scoring attack was working on all cylinders as Drew Paul poured in 15, Mike Girman 10, Max Jindra 8, Alex Yiankes 7, Cole Wolf 6, and Colin Ahearn and Dan Gholston finishing it off with 2 each. Mike grabbed 9 boards and Drew pulled down 7.  Cole and Alex each had 5 assists and Max swiped 2 steals.

The boys played very unselfish basketball and dominated on the offensive end.  Portage had two impressive players and was able to test BF, but our boys weren’t ready to surrender.  Nice job gentlemen!

The 7th grade boys’ basketball teams will play their last regular season games on Thursday as they travel to La Porte Boston.

The boys 7th grade B team picked up where they left off by defeating Fegely 47-13 last night.  It was a total domination in all facets of the game.

Daniel Gholston had another productive game scoring 14 points and grabbing 5 rebounds.  Eric Yiankes chipped in 10 and picked up a couple of assists.  Dan Wimberley continues to improve as he scored 7 in addition to snatching 4 rebounds.  Rounding out the scoring was Jacob Wallace with 5, Matt Emerson 3, Tony Carpenter 2, Jake Pancek 2, Ryan Wexelberg 2 and Dominic Snemis 2.

Andrew Lehnen was the only player that didn't score but he led the team with 4 assists, 3 steals and 2 injuries.  Andj is as tough as they come and I know he will be ready for the next game.  Wex had a solid performance grabbing 3 rebounds and dishing out 4 assists.  This was the final home game this year and we thank you for supporting the team.  The B team wraps up their season this Thursday at LaPorte Boston.
