The 8th grade lady Viking volleyball team hosted LaPorte Boston yesterday. The A team came out strong on the first game dominating the court with a 10 point lead against LaPorte and then slowly lost the lead with the first game losing 23-25, as for the second game the ladies struggled to keep up with LaPorte with the final score in that game 17-25. This was their second loss of the season.
Morgan Mikenas and Kassie Feczko had 3 aces each with 2 kills a piece. Keep your heads up ladies., we have many more games ahead of us.! As for the B team the girls yet again dominated the court and won against LaPorte with the scores of 25-12 and 25-11. Kate Gorski and McKenzie Brown had 6 aces a piece while Gabby Brown had 4 kills and Hannah Collins had 2 kills. The B team is undefeated so far this season. Let’s keep up the good work ladies! The lady Vikings travel to Portage Fegely this Thursday! Come out and support your 8th grade girl’s volleyball team!
The 7th grade “A” team played an instant classic last night against La Porte Boston and came home with a thrilling 25-18, 22-25, 15-13 victory. In what will go down as one of the best games of the season, BF came ready to play and competed with a very talented team. Sammy brought her “A” game and passed the ball very well, Mia was very solid at the net, and Rachel and Brooke came through with some big time serves down the stretch. With the score at 14-13, Katie sealed the deal with a huge spike to end the game. Amazing job ladies! The “A” team is now 10-1.The 7th grade “B” team also participated in a classic, but fell short by losing 16-25, 25-20, 15-9. The girls struggled with their serves throughout the contest, and the Slicers took advantage. Jolie played a great back row and Kathryn motivated her teammates with some all-out hustle.
Vic played well up front and Madison Palmer had some very impressive digs. Our girls were challenged for the first time this season and put forth a solid effort. The “B” team is now 5-1. Keep your heads up ladies! There will be volleyball intramurals this Thursday before the 7th grade game against Portage Fegely. Any BOY or GIRL interested can come out and practice with the girls from 3-4. Please come out and support your BF VIKES!
