Bison Financial Presents Check to Valpo Parks

bison-financial-donation-2014Bison Financial Group on Thursday afternoon made a donation to the Valparaiso Parks Department to help fund the popular Valpo Night Ride.

The Night Ride is scheduled for August 23, 2014, and will begin at 11 p.m. The donation was in the amount of $2,000 and will be used to buy food for the post-ride pancake meal.

Paul Kuzemka of Bison Financial Group presented the check to Valpo Parks in Bison’s downtown office.

“Bison Financial Group’s support of the Valpo Night Ride, as well as other events throughout the year, is in keeping with Bison’s business motto, ‘Good will first, business second,’” Kuzemka said. “We will be serving ‘Breakfast on Bison’ after the event, so it should be plenty of fun. We are looking forward to seeing a lot of our fellow residents in attendance this year.”

Bison Financial Group joins Urschel Laboratories as the exclusive co-sponsors of the event.

The Valpo Night ride is a 15-mile bike ride around the city, through downtown and the campus of Valparaiso University. Helene Pierce introduced the idea of the night ride to the Valpo Parks Department and has turned it into one of the organization’s most popular events.

The Valpo Night Ride has seen as many as 500 participants, Pierce said, and the Parks Department expects an even bigger turnout this year.

The Valparaiso Parks Department is happy to have local businesses such as Bison Financial and Urschel Labs step up as donors for its many events.

Accepting the donation on behalf of the Parks Department, along with Pierce, was John Seibert, director of Valpo Parks.

“We’re excited to have a great partner to make the Valpo Night Ride a success and a great event,” Seibert said. “We’ve had great partnerships in the past, and this is just another one of those partners who will help make it even better.”
