Always smiling, Emily Royer is one of Blackbird Cafe's favorite customers. You can catch her zipping through each morning before heading to the Porter County Museum of History, where she works on outreach and volunteer recruitment.
Emily graduated from Valparaiso University in 2012, joined AmeriCorps, and was co-curator of P.O.C.O.'s Central Stories Project. Photographs from this exhibit hung on Blackbird's walls in March and April.
Emily says that if she could have a superpower, it would be to speak and understand any language, which may be a mixed blessing. She doesn't follow any sports team. "I used to play, but watching is just boring."
