Boilermakers Earn No. 2 Seed For Big Ten Tournament

purdue-logoThe sixth-ranked Purdue men’s basketball team has earned the No. 2 seed at the 2011 Big Ten Men’s Basketball Tournament, to be played from March 10-13 at Indianapolis’ Conseco Fieldhouse.

Ohio State garnered the No. 1 seed, while No. 3 seed Wisconsin, No. 4 seed Michigan and No. 5 seed Illinois also earned byes into Friday’s quarterfinals.

The Boilermakers will meet the winner of the first-round game between seventh-seeded Michigan State and No. 10 seed Iowa at 6:30 p.m. ET on Friday. Big Ten Network will televise the action with Gus Johnson and Shon Morris on the call, and Charissa Thompson on the sidelines.

Michigan State and Iowa will at approximately 5 p.m. ET on Thursday.

Purdue is the tournament’s No. 2 seed for the second year in a row, and the third time in the history of the event. The Boilermakers are 1-2 at the Big Ten Tournament as a No. 2 seed.
