The Boys & Girls Clubs of Porter County has many exciting daily activities and special events planned to keep all children engaged and active during the summer months!
Hours this summer are:
- Duneland Club: 1:30 p.m. – 5:20 p.m. beginning June 8
- Portage Club: 11:30 a.m. – 5:20 p.m. beginning June 10
- South Haven Club: 11:30 a.m. – 5:20 p.m. beginning June 10
- Valparaiso Club: 11:30 a.m. – 5:20 p.m. beginning June 4
The Portage Dusty Rhode Boys & Girls Club will kick the summer off with a cook out on June 12th and finish the summer with a Back to School Fashion Show.
Members will enjoy a different theme each week including Animals, Science, Cultural, Arts, Camping, Sports Challenge, Water, Health & Fitness, and Go Green. Special events and activities surrounding the theme will be held each day such as water balloon toss, races, cooking classes, robot wars and much more!

Summer fun at the South Haven Club includes movie days, pajama day, roller skating, dodgeball day, and member favorites Chalk It Up and water carnival. Daily tournaments and contests are planned in the gamesroom, computer lab, art room and gym. Also, free USDA lunches will be available at 11:30 a.m. each weekday.

The Valparaiso Club is offering a wide variety of camps this summer for members. Enjoy Karate Camp – June 9-12, Golf Camp – June 22-26, Gardening Camp – June 29 – July 2, Food Camp – July 13-17, Volleyball Camp – July 20-24, Photography Camp – July 27-31, or Art Camp – August 3-7.
Pre-registration, Club membership and a Camp fee of $10 ($30 for Golf Camp) are required for each camp. A limited number of spots are available for each camp. More detailed information can be found online at www.bgcpoco.org under the Valparaiso Unit page or by calling 462-2182.
The Boys & Girls Clubs of Porter County also offers KidsCamp to elementary aged children (those entering kindergarten through those entering sixth grade). Our day camp features swimming in a near by pool, field trips, special event days, trips to local parks, crafts, computer lab, games room, gym games and kid-pleasing field trips. Flexible scheduling is available and fees vary according to usage. Children may attend half-day, all day, all week, or the entire summer.
