Boys & Girls Clubs of Porter County Names New Program Director for Valparaiso Club

AndrewPrentice-Program-DirectorRyan Smiley, President of Boys & Girls Clubs of Porter County announces newest member to the organization’s team, Andrew Prentice as Program Director for the Valparaiso Club.

Andrew received his Bachelor’s Degree in Public and Nonprofit Management and a Minor in Human Resources from Indiana University in Bloomington. While in Bloomington, Andrew served as a Family Support Specialist at Centerstone. Additionally, he volunteered and interned as a Youth Development Professional with Boys & Girls Clubs of Bloomington. He then accepted a position with Boys & Girls Clubs of Lawrence County in Bedford, IN. He has experience running Boys & Girls Clubs programs such as Passport to Manhood, Teen Talks, and Torch Club.

Andrew, through his youth development work, likes knowing that he is helping to develop future leaders for communities. His favorite memory working in a Boys & Girls Clubs includes watching a young man who endured a very difficult past rise above his challenges’ to achieve the highest honor a Club can bestow upon a child, Youth of the Year! Andrew and his wife, Melissa, are residents of Valparaiso after living in Bloomington, IN for six years.

Prentice will be overseeing the program operations at Boys & Girls Clubs of Porter County’s Valparaiso Club.

Boys & Girls Clubs of Porter County was founded in 1971 in Valparaiso, IN. Currently Boys & Girls Clubs of Porter County operates four Club units in Valparaiso, Portage, South Haven, and Chesterton; manages a Club operation in Culver, IN; and operates Kidstop sites nine school locations.
