Boys & Girls Clubs of Porter County’s South Haven Club’s Dynamic Team

Former Program Director, Jason Kegebein, recently was promoted to serve as the Club’s new Director. He began his career in the Boys & Girls Club’s Movement working as a part-time youth development professional for the South Haven Club. In 2011, he left the organization for a short time honing his non-profit skills with Opportunity Enterprises. In 2014, he returned to the Club as the program director.

Extremely active in his community, Jason serves on many local non-profit committees including South Haven Lion’s Club, Portage Rotary Club, Portage Chamber of Commerce as a member, partnered with 500 Turkey’s for Gabriel’s Horn, ShareFest, Portage Township Trustees Park’s Department, and Soles for Souls. He is very active in his church serving as the Lead pastor. Jason states, “Each day at the Club is a new experience. For me, personally, it is knowing what I do for kids has a positive impact on their choices. I enjoy seeing our Club members grow and become responsible and productive community members.”

New to Boys & Girls Clubs, Amber Zimmer is now serving as South Haven Club’s program director. Excited to be part of an organization that has such an important role in the lives of community youth, Amber brings a wealth of youth development experience to the South Haven Club. A graduate of IUPUI, Amber holds a bachelor’s degree in physical education with a major in exercise science and a minor in psychology. She is a certified personal trainer and group exercise instructor, and also is CPR, AED, and First Aid certified.

She loves volleyball and has served as a coach for over ten years. “I am excited to be of Boys & Girls Clubs of Porter County’s South Haven Club’s team,” states Amber. “I look forward to getting to know and learn all about our Club members and staff, and I can’t wait to see the awesome impact we will have on our future leaders as we work together.”
