Brownie Girl Scout Troop 149 headed up a food drive in the 3rd grade classrooms at Hayes Leonard Elementary school in Valparaiso from Jan. 21-30, 2013. On January 30th, the girls then delivered the donated food to Housing Opportunities Food Bank, a division of Opportunity Enterprises in Valparaiso.
They were given a tour of the Food Bank and then helped stock the shelves with the 97 ½ pounds of food which they collected. As a continuation of their commitment to the Food Bank, the Brownies also voted to donate a portion of the proceeds from their cookie sale profits.
