Building a Team for Success

The planning of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Porter County's 10th annual Steak & Burger Dinner is underway and in order for invitations to be sent, a logo must be designed and chosen to represent all clubs.  This year the winning artwork belongs to South Haven Club member,Tabitha Eggars, age 18.

Tabitha's artwork was one of over 100 entries submitted and will not only appear on the invitations, but also on the cover of the event's program.

The Steak & Burger Dinner is an annual fundraising event for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Porter County, designed to give Club members and community members the opportunity to interact together, while enjoying a fun dinner. The dinner is unique because Club members, who are the guests of honor, eat steaks while everyone else eats burgers.

This year, the special guest speaker will be Valparaiso University's men's basketball coach, Homer Drew.  One of the longest-tenured head coaches in the country, Drew enjoys working with young people and helping them achieve their goals.  The theme for the evening is BE Great and will be evident throughout the entire dinner.

The Steak & Burger Dinner is being held Oct. 15 at the Porter County Expo Center.  The Silent Auction will open at 5:15 p.m. and the program will begin promptly at 6 p.m.  Individual tickets are available for $75 each and multiple table sponsorships with various marketing benefits range from $700 to $2500.

Tickets and additional event information can be obtained by contacting the Boys & Girls Clubs of Porter County, 219.464.7282, ext. 235.
