Cathie-DullOpportunity Enterprises is proud to announce Cathie Dull as Business Development Manager. The goal of Dull’s position is to ensure the quality of business relationships with existing partners, as well as creating new opportunities for local businesses to connect with OE’s social enterprises which include: The Simply Amazing Market, Outsource, SecureShred and OE CleanTeam.

Opportunity Enterprises has been operating social enterprises for 20 years to employ individuals with disabilities, provide goods and services to the community, and generate additional earned income to keep providing services.

“The social enterprise business model is unique in that while the company is benefitting from a great solution to their business need, our program participants also benefit from the joy and fulfilment they experience from working and doing their job well,” said Dull. “There is a social profit that isn’t necessarily found in a traditional business model.”

As Business Development Manager, Dull will work closely with all directors of each social enterprise to drive the lines of business. Dull has a bachelor of arts in organizational communication from Indiana University Northwest. She spent 10 years in the staffing industry and has worked in both business to business sales, and nonprofit sectors. Most recently, Dull was the assistant director of resource development for the Boys & Girls Club of Porter County, where she managed special events and marketing.

“This position gives me the opportunity to develop clients and sell with a purpose, by connecting people to the mission. I’m excited about promoting OE’s social enterprise divisions, like SecureShred and the Simply Amazing Market which have phenomenal reputations in the area. I’m also fortunate to be representing the amazing people who benefit from the services and programs at OE,” said Dull.

According to Dull, OE’s best kept secret is the OutSource division. OutSource Solutions provides top-quality manufacturing and subcontracting services for packaging and custom assembly such as assorted jewelry boxes and electrical or mechanical components. Currently, there are 150 to 200 program participants in OutSource every day.

“OutSource has amazing potential. Participants are focused, hardworking and willing to help in any way possible. Companies should recognize the benefit of our ready and capable workforce,” said Dull.

Dull said her personal mission is to educate local businesses on the value of partnering with an organization that has been enriching the lives of individuals with disabilities in Northwest Indiana for over 40 years.

“I’m excited to talk about the stories, teach the community and spread the word about the amazing things that happen at OE, and how this organization effects lives in such a tangible way,” she said.
