Two new shade shelters are being completed at the popular Butterfly Meadow playground located at Valpo Parks system’s Foundation Meadows. The shelters will be named the “Monarch Shelter” and the “Caterpillar Shelter”, which were inspired by the adjacent natural butterfly habitat. Both accommodate eight (8) picnic tables, with one shelter being available at all times for use by the public, and the other available for reservation.
The new shelters will be ready for use by mid-June with reservations being accepted as of Monday, June 10th. The first official rental date for the Caterpillar Shelter will be Saturday, June 22nd.
Rentals for the Caterpillar Shelter will be for the entire day at the rate of $70 for City residents and $82 for those outside City limits.
