Call Out for 6th Grade Cadette Girl Scouts

Girl-Scouts-logoGirls in 6th grade wanting to join Girl Scouts this year should attend the registration Open House on Tuesday, Sept. 10 at Thomas Jefferson Middle School in Valparaiso between 6:00-8:00 PM. Information will be available about leaders, meeting days and times. A parent must be present to fill out registration forms and pay the $15.00 annual membership fee. Financial aid is available for membership fees and vests.

Cadette Girl Scouts isn’t just selling cookies and doing crafts. It’s learning how to become a confident young woman in today’s world whether it be on the home front or in the work place. Girls are involved in a variety of exciting activities including career exploration, learning leadership skills, “Green” awareness, building positive self-esteem, learning life skills, personal health activities, and planning lots of events both indoors and outdoors.

Girl Scouts USA is the largest volunteer organization for girls and women in the world. Started by Juliette Gordon Low in 1912 in Savannah, Georgia with just 12 girls, Girl Scouting today has millions of members in big cities and small towns all over the world.
