Calvary Church Launches Third Sunday Service

3-Services-Sept-15VALPARAISO Calvary Church, 1325 Evans Ave., will launch a third Sunday morning service on September 15. New service times are 8:15 a.m., 9:45 a.m., and 11:15 a.m. Children’s ministries are offered at all three services.

Calvary has experienced rapid growth over the last ten years, reaching 1,200 attendees in 2013. The current two services were filled beyond capacity throughout the spring and summer. “I love preaching to two packed out worship services on Sunday morning,” said senior pastor Lionel Young, “but we need to make more room for people looking for a church home.”

Young credits the church’s growth to its commitment to remain “rooted and relevant.” He explained that Calvary’s worship is rooted in the ancient practices of the church. “We gather to sing, to pray, to hear the Word, and to worship,” he said. “But our worship is relevant to the day-to-day life of people living in Northwest Indiana. We aren’t worshipping like medieval Europeans. We’re worshipping like twenty-first century Americans.” Modern technology and contemporary musicians are hallmarks of all the church’s services.

Calvary Church is an independent Bible church dedicated to spreading the word about Jesus Christ throughout Northwest Indiana and the world. Calvary offers a contemporary worship experience and relevant expository preaching to nearly 1,200 worshippers. For more information, visit www.calvaryweb.net.
