Calvary Link: Better Together

Calvary-Link-Good-to-be-HomeI sure missed worshipping with you last Sunday! I was really disappointed we had to cancel. Something special happens when God's people get together. It's hard to explain, but it's real. Getting together increases our joy and encourages us for the journey (Hebrews 12:22-25).

Well, let's get together this Sunday! We are breaking tradition and moving communion to the second Sunday since we missed last week. But what stays the same is that we are going to hear the Word of God and worship the God of the Word!

Please check out all the opportunities below to get connected. And if you can, help us sell out the Sevenglory Hope and Melody concert for the cause of young girls in Guatemala.

What's New at Calvary...

Starting Point Membership Class
Become a part of our family! Starting Point is Calvary's membership class, giving information on what Calvary believes, where it is headed, and why that is important. The class is also designed to connect you with others who are considering making Calvary their home church. Starting Point begins this Sunday, 2.8, at 11:15a and continues for three weeks. Sign-up at the Guest Services Desk on Sunday or online here.

Also offered in February is our Starting Point Turbo Membership Class. The three week course is combined into one morning on Saturday, 2.28.

Sevenglory in Concert
What if you could change a life with a $10 concert ticket? On Friday, 2.13 at 7p, rock band Sevenglory with special guest Red Umbrella presents An Evening of Hope and Melody, a benefit concert for Oasis Home in Guatemala. Advance tickets ($10) are on sale now through 2.12 at brownpapertickets.com and in the church foyer on Sunday for cash or check purchases. Oasis is a residential haven for girls who have been abused or forced into child labor (or both). It's a place for them to heal and experience love and security.

Rooted: Raising Kids in a Broken World
For the month of February, Calvary's weekly disciple building forum will be working through practical steps and application for Raising Kids in a Broken World. Join Calvary's Family Ministries Pastor, Josh Reasoner, each Sunday for a discussion and an extended Q&A. Whether you might be a parent someday, are fresh out of the delivery room, are knee-deep in adolescents, or are enjoying a do-over with your grandkids, there is a place for you in the conversation about connecting the gospel to the family! Get in on a Rooted discussion in room 403 from 9:30a-11a.

Miscellanies: Second Look Week
The Calvary Church staff is digging into the Miscellanies blog archives so you can take a second look at some posts from the past. "What to Look for in a Mentor" is the only new piece to be published this week. It was written as a companion to "How to be Smarter Than You Are," which was re-published on Monday, but was never posted. And be sure to check out today's post, "A Financial Plan That Works."

Young Single Women Valentine's Lunch
Join us for Accepted. Blessed. Chosen. A Valentine's Lunch for Young Single Women at Calvary on Saturday, 2.14, at 11a. This lunch will bless you with fellowship, great food and a message on "Your Identity in Christ" from Mel Parker. Click here to purchase your ticket by credit or debit or visit our table in the foyer on Sunday for cash or check purchases.
