Records were broken Easter weekend at Calvary Church in Valparaiso! Nearly 2,000 people gathered at Calvary this weekend over 5 services. Almost 1,500 on Easter Sunday alone. The gospel was proclaimed, and God was glorified. I’m so proud of our dedicated staff and our committed volunteers for a great weekend. And I’m just thrilled to be part of a church where people are witnessing to friends and neighbors. Way to go Calvary!
This Sunday we are continuing our series on “the most interesting man in the world” from the gospel of Mark. Once again, Jesus surprises his audience by saying and doing unexpected things. I can’t wait to bring you another challenging exposition from the ‘God-breathed Book.’ Kurt and our team are getting ready for another great weekend at Calvary.
I had several first-time guests tell me last Sunday, “You will see me again.” The Sundays following Easter are great weekends to send your friend a text, e-mail, or e-vite with a note that says, “Hey, Our pastor is talking about ‘the most interesting man in the world’ this Sunday! You should come back this week.”

Student Ministries
Students - you won’t want to miss the Regional Youth Conference on Saturday, 4.21 at 9a! Youth Ministries from our region will be coming to Calvary for corporate worship to connect with one another socially, relationally, & spiritually, and grow in their understanding and love of God. Support the Student Ministries Mission Mitaboni trip by eating their pancakes! The pancake breakfast will be at Calvary on Sunday, 4.22 from 8a-1p. Tickets will be $6 for adults and $3 for children.
Middle School and High School Students, Sunday, 4.22, bring your parents for a night of testimonies and God-stories. Meet together in the Well from 6-8 for a great time!
Children's Ministries
The Catalyst for Kids course (for kids 8-12) focuses on God’s character, salvation, baptism, and following God’s plan. This is a terrific course for those children interested in being baptized, as well as for those desiring a solid foundation on each week’s topics. This 4-week course meets at 9a in room 403 on Sundays, 5.6-5.27. The Awana/Band of Brothers Grand Prix is just around the corner! Everyone’s invited! Get your Awana car kit ($6) and attend a car-building workshop at Calvary from 5p-8p THIS Friday, 4.13 or from 5p-8p on Friday, 4.20 (car kits and power tools available). Join us for the excitement on race day, Friday, 4.27 (registration at 5p, racing at 6p). Trophies are awarded for speed and design, so be creative! Baby Dedication
