Calvary Link: Celebrating Marriage

calvary-link-headerIn this final exposition from Mark 10:1-12 I want to encourage you to stay married for your good--and God's glory. The religious leaders point to a passage that permits divorce--while Jesus takes them (and us) back to the beginning to talk about God's dream of life-long companionship. Over the last three weeks, I've been telling you to stay married--now I'm going to open the Word and tell you how! I'm also going to give some pastoral advice to singles. Yep, I'm packing a lot in this week--but it is an important topic. And how about that new song last Sunday--"Christ Is Enough" (even for troubled marriages)? Well, it was so great last week that the best worship team in the region will be leading us in that song again this Sunday!

More than 90 volunteers are working in this year's vintage Vacation Bible School right in the middle of a warm Midwestern summer. Thank you guys! It's awesome to see kids having fun on our campus while learning God's Story from Creation to New Creation with the cross right in the middle. Not only are the lives of kids being changed--our kids are also changing the lives of other kids. I just received word that our kids have already collected more than 600 books for the library of our Mitaboni Children's Home in Kenya! Wow! Wow!

I just love our church--and I'm so thankful to be your pastor.

See You Soon--

Lionel
