I'm already looking forward to opening God's Word this Sunday to talk about the first Christians who were filled with the Holy Spirit. If you have a few minutes this week, I would encourage you to simply read Acts 2. Yes, it's the one where something like a mighty wind filled the place and the people present began to speak in tongues. (I bet you can't wait to hear what I'm going to say about tongues!)
Even if the gift of tongues is controversial for all kinds of reasons, all Christians agree that we need the Holy Spirit! We need Him to fill us, and we will be talking about this important doctrine and its meaning for our lives. Come, and bring someone with you. I promise it won't be weird! You might just learn something that will change your life forever.
Can I say how much I love being your pastor? Thank you for giving toward the growth of God's kingdom! Thank you for volunteering to serve! Thank you for putting up with a crowded worship space! Thank you for witnessing to friends and family and neighbors. Thank you for following Christ with me on this amazing journey.
May God fill us with His Holy Spirit today!
