"We work with you for your joy," wrote the Apostle Paul to the Corinthians (2 Cor. 24). And nothing brings the staff team at Calvary greater joy than to see YOUR joy increasing in Christ. When you see all the opportunities at Calvary starting this Sunday, I want you to know that the goal of everything we do is that people might experience greater joy in the person of God FOREVER.
So jump in. We are working WITH you. That means there is something for you to do. Invite a friend to church. Get plugged into a Life Group. Attend a Women's Bible Study or a the new study taught by Jon Nitta this Sunday morning. Bring your teen to Student Ministries Launch this Sunday night! Serve in children's ministries. Come hang out in the gym this Sunday, grab a coffee--and hear stories about our summer missions trips to Kenya and Guatemala. And do it for YOUR joy--and the joy of others.
And whatever you do, do NOT miss worship this week. We've got a new song--and we are going to eat and drink together. Remember it is getting crowded (and that's a good problem to have), so arrive early and attend the 8:15a or 11:15a service if you need a little more space.

What's new at Calvary...
HangTime
Meet your Calvary friends in the gym THIS Sunday, 9.7 for HangTime! Come by after the 1st and 2nd worship services for a snack and a cup of coffee with your church family. This HangTime will feature our adult missions team to Kenya and student missions team to Guatemala. Stop by their tables to ask questions and see photos from their July trips. Both teams will also give a presentation of their time in Kenya and Guatemala in the gym during the 2nd worship service (9:45a).
Rooted
Christianity is a progression, a journey, a walk toward an end. What is that end and how do we grow and change in our character to become more like Christ? What we will discover this week is that the process of change is so important yet we are tempted to turn our faith into simply being good or nice. Is there something more? GroupLink
New Life Groups (Small Groups) are starting in September through GroupLink where at a table over lunch you will meet your new Life Group leader and people in your group as well. Once you decide as a group about where and when you will meet you are off and running! GroupLink is on Sunday. 9.14 so you can sign-up at the Guest Services desk or online.
If you want more information we will be hosting an informal, "What's a Life Group All About?" this Sunday, 9.7 at 11:15a in room 403.
Coffee with the Pastors
Calvary guests are invited to Coffee with the Pastors this Sunday, 9.7 from 6:30-8p at Uptown Cafe. Learn about Calvary’s values and vision, and take the opportunity to ask questions of the pastoral staff in a casual environment. We would love to meet you! RSVP HERE.
Student Ministries
Student Ministries Launch Night will be THIS Sunday, 9.7, from 6-7:30p in the Well. Parents and students in high school and middle school are invited to come learn about all the new and exciting things happening in Calvary Student Ministries, have a chance to sign-up for upcoming events, and spend some time in worship and having fun together!

Calvary Serves
One of the ways the gospel is demonstrated visibly is by the church getting out to serve those who are in great need. Join us on Saturday, 10.4 starting at 9a to take on "redemptive" projects around our community. We will partner with ministries in town as well as schools to bless those in need because we have a Savior who has blessed us! Take a look at the projects available and start signing up this Sunday morning in the church foyer.
Women's Ministries
We are introducing a new Mentoring Group for Working Moms! Many working moms wonder if they are balancing their priorities well and how to fulfill their call to work and mother at the same time. Join Karen Devries and Kimberly Wallace on the 1st Thursday of the month from 7p to 8:30p beginning this Thursday, 9.4. Click here to register.

Missions
In November, we will be sending a group of 21 women from Calvary to serve at the Kids Alive Oasis Home in Guatemala. We are working with our partners at the Oasis to host a retreat for the staff as well as activities for the girls. Please pray for the team as we prepare for this mission.
