Last Sunday night I had coffee with an intimate gathering of about 20 new people at Calvary. I chatted with one lady who said that she has been searching for months for a church community and was recently invited to Calvary by a friend. Before the evening was over I told her I would be praying for God to guide her on her search. She looked at me with a warm smile and said, "My search is over." As I went around the room I heard similar stories from a stay-at-home mom, a CPA, a physical therapist, a retired businessman, a government official, a mill worker, a mechanic, and an executive with the Chicago White Sox. I was struck by the people from all walks of life who are finding at Calvary a place where they can meet God--where they can Worship, hear the Word, and Walk in community. Our Witness in this community is making a difference in people's lives. I'm blown away.
Hey--check out all the things going on around here (below)--Women, Men, Students, Kids, Seniors--there are a ton of ways to get connected. And thanks for taking all the shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child (they are all gone!)--don't forget to bring them back filled! I'm looking forward to opening the Word this Sunday with you to talk about the most interesting man in the world. I cannot wait to worship the most glorious being in the universe this weekend!

Calvary Live
Coming Sunday 11.18, the very first Calvary Live worship album, Mighty Fortress. The album was recorded here at Calvary, live on Sundays, and features the Calvary worship team. It includes 12 popular worship songs such as 10,000 Reasons, Lord I Need You, and Our God. Be sure to get your copy in just a couple of weeks!
Operation Christmas Child
It's that time of year again, to collect shoeboxes of goodies to be delivered with the Gospel to children around the world. Boxes need to be dropped off to the Operation Christmas Child table near the Children’s Welcome Center by this Sunday, 11.11.
Women's Ministries
This year's Annual Christmas Lunch will be held on Saturday, 12.1 at 11a at Valparaiso University. Tickets can be purchased in advance for $18 per person, this Sunday, 11.11-11.18. Women and young ladies (middle school and older) are invited to attend. CLICK HERE for more info.
Reliant & Connect Student Ministries
2012 Youth Seminar Series - “Team Teen” is for parents, interested adults, and our current youth volunteers. We will be discussing a variety of aspects of the team required for effective discipleship & ministry to teens. Topics include Calvary’s vision & polices for youth ministry, skills/training for teen interaction, and biblical encouragement for one another. The four week seminar series will be held on Sundays (11.11, 11.18, 12.2 & 12.9) in the banquet room from 10:45a-12:00p.
Saturday, 11.10 from 7a-2:30p, Calvary's Student Ministries are partnering with other area churches for a Fall paintball outing @ Fort Knox in Winamac! The $40 fee and release forms need to be turned in to the church office by this Friday, 11.9 at 5p. Vans will leave the church parking lot at 7a, so please be on time!
Tonight 11.7, Middle School Students (Grades 6-8), join us from 6-7:45p. We meet every other Wednesday for activities, Bible lesson, and connect time with youth leaders!
