This weekend, all over the world, the church will be celebrating Palm Sunday. It is the Sunday before Easter, and the day our long anticipated Hero enters the city of Jerusalem, where he will lay down his life for the sins of the world. It is a weekend of anticipation, celebration, and reflection. We long for our Hero to come and make all things new, and so we celebrate. But we also reflect on our own lives and ask the question, "Am I ready for His coming?"
It is a fitting Sunday for our final exposition in Malachi. This is the prophet's last word to God's people before the Hero arrives, and I'm looking forward to bringing the word for all of us. God's ancient Word is so relevant for our lives today. We need to hear the call, "Return to Me." We all need renewal in our lives. I'm looking forward to being with you on Palm Sunday, followed by Good Friday and Easter Sunday! I'm looking forward to the spring season with you, with its warmer weather and the renewal of all creation. And I am praying for this to be a season of renewal for all of us!
