Calvary Women Make Lasting Memories on Women’s Retreat

About 25 women from Calvary Church attended the 2012 Spring Women's Retreat at Spring Hill Camps, in Evart, Michigan. The group left in several vehicles from the Church on Friday morning and returned in time for dinner with their families on Sunday. The women enjoyed four General Sessions with speaker Glenna Salsbury and worship music from the talented Jennifer Stanley.

Between sessions women were able to choose from a variety of breakout sessions and activities. Night Hikes, Horseback Rides, Ziplines, High Ropes Challenges, Rock Walls, Canoeing, Crafts, Swimming, Coffee Houses with acoustic music, girl talk with friends and so much more! Most importantly, they found quiet time with God.

Women from 18 to "60 Something" attended and those of all ages conquered their fears on many of the high adventure challenges, trusting in God and putting fears aside, then basking in the feeling of accomplishment.

In addition to some funny skits, the camp shared some of the fun videos they created...Kids Tell A Bible Story - David & Goliath was one of the favorites!

This was the second church organized event to SpringHill, and though a carload or two of women from Calvary attend each spring and fall retreat in Evart, the next church organized trip will be in the fall of 2013.

Calvary Church has been growing by leaps and bounds over the past 18 months, therefore the Women's Ministry, Girlfriends of Grace, has been growing too. Each month the ladies host a Girls Night Out, each semester there are a number of Bible Studies to choose from, and during the summer months, there are several options for those who love to read in our Summer Book Club. The group also offers a Christmas Luncheon at the VU Harre Union. This year's event will take place on December 1st, with host, National Speaker and Author, Kendra Smiley.
