Calvary Women’s Brunch Experiences Change in Its 11th Year

Calvary-Brunch-2011-1This year's Calvary Women's Brunch had a lot of changes, and God made sure they all worked perfect for His Glory! The Women of Calvary have been inviting friends and family to this brunch for 11 years. Previously always held in the church, the first change was to move off site to the Valparaiso University Harre Union Ballroom to accommodate the growing number of guests. The facility, service and food were spectacular.

Speaking of spectacular food, the brunch was moved to a luncheon to allow women time to decorate their tables. In the past when the event was held at the church the women spent all of Friday decorating the church and their tables. Each table was as uniquely different as the hostesses that decorated it. Though at first women were disappointed they were no longer able to bring in their own plate service, it was welcomed in the end since they didn't have to haul home dirty dishes and the extra weight! Even without the different place settings, the women were very creative in setting a table fit for our King!

Calvary-Brunch-2011-2Changes are seldom without a few hurdles, our national speaker had to cancel and our entertainment fell through, but God provided us with a speaker from our own congregation, Victoria Peasley, who shared how making our Lord the Star of her life instead of worldly things, worldly people, and even herself, has made her life more fulfilling and meaningful. Again God provided our entertainment from the band Sevenglory of Valparaiso, who also all attend Calvary.

Their current album "To Calvary" is available and their next album is currently being recorded at Seven Spin Studios, also located within Calvary Church.

We would love to see you at church on Sunday!
