Catholic Schools Week 2013

Catholic-Schools-Raise-the-StandardsSunday, January 27, 2013 Please join us for Mass at 10:00 am. We are encouraging all students to come to Mass with their school uniform on to show the pride we all have in giving our children a Catholic education. Following Mass there will be an Open House in the school from 11:00 to 1:30. During that time, please visit your child/children’s current classroom and take a sneak peek into the next year’s grade.

There will be refreshments in the cafeteria and a table to purchase spirit wear. The middle school teachers and some alumni will have a middle school information session beginning at 11:30. Please encourage anyone interested in a Catholic education to come and visit our school! We would love to share our higher standard of education and our love of our Catholic values! In the evening from 6:00-9:00pm, our speech team members will be holding their Open House and performing their speeches that helped the team have a wining season again this year

Monday, January 28, 2013 PAJAMA DAY! Today is pajama day! Your child may wear appropriate pajamas to school.

Tuesday, January 29, 2013 Tuesday Tie Day! Today your child will need to wear their regular school uniform, but they may wear a tie with their uniform. They can borrow a tie from dad, or wear one of their own. 7th and 8th graders will be attending Mass at Andrean High School. The Mass starts at 9:30 am. 3rd graders will be attending a play in LaPorte. The play begins at 9:30 am. All buses will leave here approximately at 8:30.

Wednesday, January 30, 2013 Hat Day! Today is hat day. Your child will wear their uniform along with a hat. (if the hat is too big or distracting they may have to remove them during instructional time, but may put them on at various times throughout the day.) *Penny Parade will take place at 10:50 am.

Thursday, January 31, 2013 Spirit Wear/8th Grade Volleyball! Today is our annual teachers vs. eighth grade volleyball game. It is also Spirit Wear day. Your child will wear uniform bottoms and spirit wear tops. * Penny Parade will take place at 10:50 am.

Friday, February 1, 2013 Dress up Day/Mass Day/Academic Bowl in the morning, we ask all parents to come join us for Mass. Your child will come to school dressed up for the Mass to sit with you. (Please check the seating chart attached to see where your child may meet you.) *PENNY PARADE The students will meet in the afternoon with their families for an academic bowl. THANK YOU! Parents are invited into the Social Hall after mass for muffins and coffee provided by the St. Paul teachers and staff.

*PENNY PARADE –we ask students to bring in money to put into classroom jars. On Wednesday, Thursday and Friday we will have time in the morning where students can “parade” through the halls placing bills in other classrooms’ jars. Only coins count toward a classroom total; paper money or checks subtract from a classroom’s total. The class that raises the most money will be treated to a pizza party. All funds collected will be donated to the VNA Phoenix House.

During Catholic Schools week we will be having the Scholastic Book Fair. Book Fair will open on Sunday, January 27th from 9:00 am-1:00 pm. Fair will be open Monday through Thursday from 3:00 pm-7:00 pm. Please enter through Door #2 (nearest the Library) Students may purchase from the Book Fair during their normal library times during the week.
